Class of 2010!

I have a big week ahead. A week from tomorrow, I will be graduating from high school! This year has gone by so fast; I've hardly gotten used to being a senior, and now here I am. I'm certainly looking forward to being done! After Tuesday I will be finished forever. You may or may not be wondering what I'm going to be doing in the fall, but I'll tell you anyhow. :) I'm doing something rather unconventional, I'm not going to college. *gasp* I've never felt that God was calling me to go for 4 years, but up until several months ago I was planning on getting a business degree at the local community college. As my parents and I prayed about it, however, we began to feel that that wasn't where God wanted me after all. It's always been my dream to own a small yarn shop, so over the next few years, I'm hoping to work at the type of shop I'd like to own, so I can get some practical experience. I'll also be looking for classes on how to run a small business, and so forth. It's going to be an adventure! It certainly won't be easy, and I don't exactly know what I'm doing, but I know that God has brought me this far, and His faithfulness is unchanging! I can't wait to see where He takes me from here.

I just found your blog, searching for washcloth patterns (LOVE the daisy!) and just thought I'd say Hi! Congratulations on your graduation! I think we may have a lot in common! I was homeschooled all the way through, and graduated in '06. Now I'm 21, and I've caught some flack about not going to college, but, like you said, it's not what I feel is what I need to do! I would absolutely LOVE to own a yarn shop, but I'm afraid the market where I live (boondocks...middle of nowhere, really!) wouldn't be that great. As much yarn as have, though, I could probably start one right now, from the house!!! The closest yarn shop to me is about 1 1/2 hours away, so I don't get to one very often. If you haven't thought of this already, Ebay is a great place to get nice yarn for really cheap prices. I LOVE high-quality yarn, but not the prices, and I've been able to get a lot of great stuff off of Ebay... Just a thought, if you hadn't done that already! Feel free to email me, if you like!
