Valentine's Day, Stitch Markers, and a new lace cloth!

Every year for as long as I can remember our family (just the 5 of us) has had a Valentine's Day party. It's never exactly the same, but it's always fun! We have dinner on our china, in the past we've made our own heart shaped pizzas, and decorated cupcakes, or else had something fancy. We play some games, and do other things too. We never know what we're going to do until we're doing it! This year we had a dart competition. I was actually ahead for most of it, (trust me, that's a big shocker!!) but at the end I fell apart and came in third. Oh well, it was still fun. Then we had a raffle. (something we do every year) We each draw pictures, and then we raffle them. It's actually really fun! We get kind of crazy. This year, instead of Mom choosing the categories, we each got to think of one. That got interesting. Here we are with our "artwork" :)For dinner, we had Twice-Baked potatoes, Vegetable pancakes, cranberry sauce, and Chicken Marsala. It was really good! (by the way, that's sparkling grape juice in the back!)We have a "Heart Mobile" that we add to every year. We each make a few hearts with Sculpy to put on it. It's very full by now. :) It was a great party.

Last weekend I made some new stitch markers. I made the little Easter eggs with Sculpy! The beads took an eternity to make, but I just love how they turned out.
I also finished this lace cloth. I'd forgotten how long lace patterns take, but in my opinion, it was definately worth it!

Your house sure sounds like a lot of fun :)

Your stitch markers are amazing. You are a very clever girl!! I've seen many stitch markers made with store bought beads...but I think yours are far superior than any I've seen :)

Love your lace cloth...lace a much slower knit, but you are so right ...it is worth the extra effort :)

happy knitting :)

thanks for visiting my blog. Love your lace cloth. They do take a little longer but are so pretty. Great job on the stitch markers. I have to get back into that. If there was only more time.
I noticed that your flower cloth is a KAL for the dishcloth kal group. I think I'll make it for my friend for her b'day (in august) so I thank you in advance for the pattern... you have got a lot going for you for such a young woman!
